In 2002 Mike Oldfield released a revolutionary and original 3D game for Windows called Music VRin which you explore strange and imaginitive 3D rendered worlds and locations and interact with creatures, characters, and objects of all shapes and sizes. The experience included brilliant collages of breathtaking ambient and electronic music and beautiful visuals (for its time) along the way. Shortly thereafter he released a soundtrack of the game called Tr3s Lunaswhich contained the full game on a second disc with the album. However, the soundtrack was mostly made in the format of a traditional album and contained less than half of the music that was present in the game itself. I extracted the missing music from the game and arranged a new album to compliment the first Tr3s Lunas and complete the musical collection. If you're a Mike Oldfield fan and haven't played Music VR or would just like to listen to the music without playing the game, then you can listen to Tr3s Lunas II as a free download!
In 2012, myself and Alex Smerchynski joined forces after attempting to start a band and worked on an album with just the two of us. Alex was an experienced and talented writer (who eventually became a fantastic producer) and had previously worked closely with Winnipeg’s own Fresh IE and I composed and played guitar. We finished six songs together and released an EP called EDIFY. It featured various local talents such as Joel Ruhr, AJ, Larry Leask, Byron Foster, and Dee Liandra. The EP was produced and mixed by Byron Foster with half the songs written and composed by ourselves and the rest by Byron. We never finished the final album but instead moved on to a new project we called Ignition. Our singles Superstar, Sold Out, and Thank Youmade a successful run on Christian radio stations across Canada, but especially in our base city of Winnipeg, Manitoba with the local radio station CHVN.
After Alex and I made the EDIFYEP, we started working on our next project Ignition. This time we wrote a full album’s worth of songs that leaned more toward the pop, electronic, and even dubstep. Alex maintained his rap lyrics and flow but also started writing melodies and singing his lyrics. I ventured out myself and sang some backup vocals. This time we decided to produce the album entirely on our own and composed and mixed everything between the two of us with Alex handling the final mastering. The local talent featured on this album this time included Laura Jane, DJ Morf’d (Bretton Selent), and Alex Grant. This album took longer to make, finally releasing in 2015, but remains to both us as a great compilation of some of our most favourite work we’ve ever collaborated on. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available online to buy, but I was able to include excerpt clips of each track right here for your enjoyment!
This arrangement was originally contracted as a new theme song for an official Android port and compilation of Duke Nukem 3D and many of its expansions (including the console ports Duke Nukem 64 and Duke Nukem Total Meltdown) called the “Hail to the King Collection”which was eventually cancelled. It is essentially a medley of many of the various interpretations of the Duke Nukemtheme song “Grabbag”made for various Duke Nukem video games developed since Duke Nukem 3D for PC including Duke Nukem: Zero Hour, Duke Nukem Forever, and the Megadeth Grabbag cover.
Uncontrolled Reentrywas the first piece of original music that I released for sale on digital music platforms. My first step into selling work made for just myself, no games or in a joint effort with any other artists. It was inspired by such artists as Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel Jarre, and Tangerine Dream. My longterm plan is to turn this into a full instrumental album project within the coming years. A lot of feeling and passion was poured into this piece and it’s one of my favourites.

MAGE’S INITIATION: REIGN OF THE ELEMENTSORIGINAL GAME SOUNDTRACK
Mage’s Initiation is an indie Point & Click Adventure/RPG hybrid PC game developed by Himalaya Studios. In 2013 they successfully funded a Kickstarter campaignfor over $125,000, almost doubling their initial goal. Today, the game is at long last in its final stages of development and is moving into the final testing phase before release. The game features over 2 hours worth of original music and backers who pledged during the Kickstarter campaign at certain tiers will receive a CD soundtrack with select tracks from the game. This soundtrack will also be available for sale after the game’s release. For now, you can enjoy select preview tracks from SoundCloud.
